Bridge Tips

Tip # 1 - Trestles Don't Have To Go Up!
The over and under action of a bridge and trestle set is a fun part of model railroading.

Generally bridges are used to carry the track over a river, valley or chasm. This tip lets you recreate this using most bridge and trestle sets.

Cut a section about 3' wide from your platform. Using wood braces, lower it about 4".

Slide the bridge and trestles onto you track, measure and cut 1" x 2" lumber to the correct size to support the trestles and keep the track level.

Glue the supports in place and attach the trestles to the supports with nails, screws, or a staple gun.

Create a valley, river, or whatever scenery you wish, make sure to cover the wood supports and the base of the trestles.

You can now use Lichen trees and other landscaping materials to landscape the scene.
