Building placement On The YSP RR
Well according to the plan I had a pretty good idea where
certain buildings were to be located, but as you know, nothing always goes
according to plan, especially track placement and buildings.
It always seems to fit so easily on paper but when it comes
to the actual layout, Yikes....
So I wanted to test fit certain items here and there to
make sure I had enough room. Now is the time to do stuff like this, not
after all your hard scenery work is in place.

Sure was a lot easier to clean track then. Not
mountains, trees and buildings in the way ;o) |

Rough track work is in place. |

Merced Falls was modified many times over the process allowing
much more switching activity. |
This is going to be tight hmmmm |

|

I had to use an Atlas turntable due to the room
I had to work with. It was highly modified so it would index any place I
put tracks. |

Early engine facilities at Merced, Ca. Also you can see the
flip up yard (transfer table) |

Moss Canyon looks totally different today. |

Here you can see the flip up bridge leading to El Portal in
the fore ground. |
