Controlling the Yosemite Sugar Pine RR

The YSP RR uses a Digitraxx Zephyr DCC system. The layout is radio equiped so walk around radio controlled throttles are used. This gives all the operators the freedom to move around freely as needed.

There are 4 plug in areas stationed around the layout so if they need to aquire another engine etc. they an do it easily.

Switching in the Merced Falls area can be done from either side of the layout because duplicate switch machine controls are on each side of the layout. Merced Falls is the only place where electric throw switches are used due to the tight reaches to get to the switches. Ground throws are used everywhere else giving the operators a more hands on effect.

Plug Ins, switches controlling turnouts, switches controlling lights, sounds and other things are also located on the front side of the layout.

 

 

 

 

The backside of the layout has duplicate switches so you don't have to run around the layout to do things.
